Frustrated, disappointed and sometimes darn mad.

I have been a customer of 1st Commspeed, and now, Speedconnect. About once a week or so service goes down and I have to email for help.

Then, just recently, they said service was down for emergency service in my area and it would be up the next day. The next day I emailed to find out why it isn’t up and I am informed that I am 1 month behind and have been shutoff. In all the time I have had it this has not happened. No contact til today when I get a recorded message telling me I need to pay or call before my service is interrupted.

I send questions to be answered and all they can keep saying is pay and you’ll have service back. The only reason it wasn’t paid was I was in between checks. New bill on the 21st, paycheck the 27th. Though I accept that my bill is a little behind, I do not accept being turned off without any contact until after the fact.

Commspeed was a small town, pleasant company to deal with. My family also had Speedconnect and got tired of the hiccup in service.

Speed Connect BAD SERVICE DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!

They were quick to sign me up and collect my money, when I called in to complain that the service didn't work in the evening hours they told me that they were going to upgrade the equipment in the next few months, I waited then called in again and they said the did not know when it will be upgraded, I canceled and they charged me a service fee of 150.00...Not handled well in my opinion...I think they should refund my service fee and not sign up any new customers until they can offer reliable service. I do not recommend using this company for internet service.

Installer never showed up

I had a appointment set up for installer to set our internet up yesterday between noon and three.Installer never showed up and never called.I called 7 times and customer service said they can’t find the installer.We never got a call back and never got installed when we canceled our plans to sit around the house for them!Horrible company!

I had such bad service for two years...paid 100 dollars a month for headache after headache...speed was so slow...downloads took over 24 hours....could never record anything off of satelite because speed was so low...never never pick speed connect for a provider even if they r the only providers in town

Tower down

3 weeks ago tower was down for a week.my brother lives 1 mile away tells me its back on.yet mine is not working.its been two weeks,still no intenet.yup im told we r a priorty.it will be fixed by friday.well its friday 5:30 pm.not fixed yet.where the *** is the tech guy at that supposed to be here.

Save yourself the trouble

Save yourself a lot of trouble and do not sign up for SpeedConnect. The service is lousy at best and they will try to extort money from you for equipment. Internet was spotty on again, off again. Had to continually reset the equipment provided. They blamed it on my brand new router, because they could ping the modem "just fine". They turned off my service and then tried to charge me $150.00 for the *** modem they provided, that disappeared from my property shortly after they cut me off. I was informed that the reason they were dropping customers is because they could not deliver the service they promised and were being sued.

As soon as my contract is up I am switching back to AT&T for my internet service. They constantly change prices, late fees are doubled and every single day before I start home schooling I have to reset my modem.

Very poor customer service relations along with shoddy service. So fed up with being ripped off by these people!

Not a good ISP

Speedconnect - Not a good ISP
Alright, so since we are in an area where we can't get "great" internet, we had to settle with speed-connect. And as others say, it's more like lag-connect. We barely get connectivity as it is and when we do, it's extremely slow. Our neighbors down the street have no issues what so ever. I have to personally call their customer service to get any type of connection. On the plus side, every time I call they seem kind and attempt to fix the issue. If you cannot get any other isp then this is basically it. You pay 70-80 dollars for 1mb dl speed if you're lucky. Some days I can get up to 3mb speed, but I resort to using my cellphone since it's faster. I had Comcast previously when I lived in another state and had no issues. Speedconnect on the other hand will tell you that you need to power cycle your equipment to get things going (which obviously never works). Then they check "towers" and "clear" them up. I don't understand why internet has to be difficult. My contract will end soon and I cannot wait to switch to another isp because a few have come in our area. I would rate the service a solid 3/10 TL;DR : Internet is awful, Customer service is okay, if you want internet you have to call every 2 hours or so.

So my internet went down during business hours and now 4 1/2 hours later it's not up and running and there is a recording that they are out of the office in observation of the holiday. Does that mean no one is working on the issues?

How can a company shut down completely when their business is providing a service to customers? I get that they're closed but who is monitoring the system to make sure everything is running correctly?

Hummmm. Not the best business decision.

Thinking of Speed Connect as an ISP? Just. Say. NO!

I call in to get help. The guy (Ben) has me do a bunch of stuff (nothing works) then types awhile, barely speaking to me. Then he comes back on and says "there's a network problem in your area that we will be investigating". I ask if I'm going to get a call back when the issue is resolved. The guy is completely confused as to why I actually want a solution to my problem and refuses to get me to a manager or one of his colleagues who can help me. He says he'll send an email to a manger but doesn't know if I'll EVER get a call back. What a worthless company. This is typical of the kind of service we have received. AWFUL!

Worst billing experience of my life.

We have been with this company for years and in a nutshell, we didn't have internet more than we had it. And when it did work, it was spotty at best. After 2 1/2 years of hearing "We will be putting new equipment in your area in 3 to 6 months and making it LTE" I've had it! I have wasted so much money on this company that I feel they owe me for sticking with them for so long. Please do your research before signing with them.

We have been a customer since Speedconnect was Speednet. Customer service is shameful. They lie to customers and it is obvious that a customers business or security doesn't matter. Will no longer recommend to anyone!

SPEED CONNECT IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE.

We had comm speed and they were actually ok, then speed connect took over and it is so bad!! we only have internet oh maybe 10 to 15% of the time, I have called them and called them! I get a different answer with each tech person. So frustrated, ! I spoke with one rep about getting at least one free month since we have been paying for a service that we are not getting, he said I have to go to their website and write my request!!! They gave us half of a month credit, And it was very peculiar how you could get an internet connection within minutes of talking to a rep, , but it was short lived, I am not kidding when I say it was an everyday problem!!! I am tired of wasting any more money on this company!!! ridiculous!

Promises, Promises...

I've been on this service for more than 15 years and it's always been the pits for reliability. When it was commspeed, we were constantly promised better equipment would be installed to enhance the reliability and speed...yeah, right, nothing ever materialized. Now that the service has changed hands, they don't even do the promise lies anymore. I live in Cottonwood and a really fast download is maybe 1/2 mpm. (that's 500 kpm}. How ridiculous is that? Now they are threatening to charge us additional fees for using more bandwidth than they think we should be. I've never seen any letter offering to compensate for all of the time that the service is completely down leaving us with no internet access to conduct business or just surf. And the service is down a lot. You can expect to lose service anytime it rains hard or for an extended period, anytime we might get even a light snow, or anytime the wind might blow a little hard. I know I should have changed providers years ago, but it's such a hassle to change Email and notify everyone. If you are getting paid good money to provide a service, either do the job or get out of the business. Period. I've heard all the excuses (that is, why they are having equipment problems at this particular time). The old saying still holds true; "*** or get off the pot". I would not recommend this provider to anyone. They have proven time and again that customer service is not their priority. They don't care if you are dissatisfied with their service and they have never made any effort to upgrade for better service. If anything, the service is worse now than it ever was when Commspeed ran it.
